Our course combines online learning with hands-on practice, guided by experienced AHA ACLS Instructors, ensuring you receive the best training available. This course will empower you to teach BLS courses nationwide, whether independently or for your employer.

Course Details

  • Course Cost: $500.00

    • Payment must be received at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Schedule:

    • Classes held 7 days a week

      • 10:00am

      • 3:00pm

  • Course Length:

    • Approximate course duration without breaks: 5.5 hours

    • Instructor candidate–faculty ratio 7:1; instructor candidate–manikin ratio 3:1

    • Lesson times may vary from course to course.

Course Delivery Method
The Basic Life Support Instructor course is offered in a blended learning format that includes:

  1. AHA BLS Instructor Essentials Online:

    • Self-directed, online portion of the BLS Instructor Essentials Blended Learning course.

    • Covers the components of the instructor cycle: Prepare, Teach, Test & Remediate, Close, and Keep Current.

    • Includes core information about instructing AHA courses and course-specific information.

    • Course length: Approximately 2 hours, depending on the student.

  2. BLS Instructor Course In-Person Session:

    • Hands-on session conducted by Attentive Safety BLS training center faculty.

  3. AHA BLS Instructor Manual eBook:

    • Essential resource for instructor candidates.


How to Become an AHA Instructor

  1. Prerequisites:

    • Must have a current BLS Provider course completion card.

    • Successfully complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online Course.

    • Successfully complete the hands-on session conducted by Safeguard CPR BLS training center faculty.

  2. Post-Course Requirements:

    • Successfully be monitored teaching your first course within six months of completing the BLS classroom Instructor Course.

    • Register and be confirmed on the AHA Instructor Network.
